Training 9/10th December.

Training this weekend will be as follows, Saturday Lightnings at 9 o’clock, divisional paddlers at 9.30.
Sunday is the 2nd club time trial start time 9.45, you need to be there for 9 o’clock to get your boat sorted and kit ready to go on the water. Just echoing Viv’s request can we bake a few cakes each for refreshments after the race, Karen Partridge is supplying the boiler again so we can have hot drinks.

Let me know if anyone would like to do safety on this trial, Peter and Aubin did it at the last one.

Truro Canoe Club 10kms time trial

Councillor Loic Rich joined over 50 kayaking enthusiasts for Truro Canoe Club’s time trial event on Sunday 26th November 2017.  Loic, a watersports enthusiast but a lapsed kayaker, completed the 10km route in a double kayak with Bill Sharpe in 1hr 12mins.

Loic said:

‘I was impressed by the speed of the more experienced kayakers.   The mass start was really exciting with kayaks accelerating away to take the lead position.  The junior paddlers were fantastic showing skill and determination from start to finish.’

‘Kayaking, as well as walking and cycling, is one of the activities I hope will benefit from the exciting ‘Truro Loops’ project which will be launched in Truro City Hall on Wednesday 29th November.  I’m very keen to support this initiative and would encourage as many people as possible to come and find out about our proposals and give us their thoughts.’

Truro Canoe Club concentrates on kayak racing although many of its members take part in other disciplines.  It operates from Boscawen Park with sessions on Saturday and Sunday throughout the year, and additional sessions on Wednesday in the warmer months.  Further information is available at: https://trurocanoeclub.wordpress.com/

Training 2/3rd Dec

Here is the training programme for this weekends training session. Please be on time, we are governed as always by tide and light and we want to make best use of the trainers time with us. Good weekend don’t miss it make both days if you can but one day is better than none. Saturday is obviously the best pace to start. Prizes for star quality on the video. Cost for the weekend is £3.00 one day or two so that we can cover the fees for the scout hut. See you all there.

Training and Time Trial 25/26th Nov

Training this weekend will be lightnings 9 o’clock, short warm up session for Sunday, divisional paddlers 9.30, I could do with somebody to run the interval sessions for the div 6 and above paddlers probably until the new year as Gary is tied up for a while and tides will not let us run two sessions, you just need to be able to paddle and read a watch at the same time.

Sunday is our first time trial in the park, start at 9.30, so you need to be there by 9 o’clock to get your boats and kit ready, adults should probably there earlier, unless they have a child looking after them. bring a mug we are supplying tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and bring some cakes to share round. Looking for someone to help out with timing.
